Office space Office Space is a 1999 humor film written and directed by Mike Judge. Though it pokes fun at labor life in a typical software business during the late 1990s, the film resonates with corporate employees as a group, by portraying individuals who are totally fed up with their jobs. The movie was shot in Austin and Dallas, Texas.

Office Space is based on the Milton series of comic strips Mike Judge created for Saturday Night Live and Liquid Television.

Office Space was Mike Judge's next foray into film (the first being Beavis and Butthead Do America). The box-office crash of Office Space (the box office profit was about $800,000) is often credited to the film's promotion campaign - which often cited "Beavis and Butthead" or "By The Creator Of Beavis And Butthead", thus drawing an viewers who was expecting a brand of humor that more closely resembled the creator's previous animated efforts. The film has since sold well on video and DVD, and some of the movie's conversation has entered into the popular lexicon since its release.
